Over a couple years, I lost a lot of weight. My shirt size went from a size 5X down to 2X. I had many tie-dyed T-shirts and some button-down collared dress shirts – shirts that two of me could now fit into! So I needed an all-new wardrobe. I thought I could combine dress and casual with an Internet search that combined “button-down” with “tie-dyed.” One of the links that popped up was for Yiume.com. Needless to say, it was “love at first sight.”
From 0 to 38 (and Counting): My Wardrobe Revolution
The unique patterns and designs are inspiring – far more delightful and interesting than tie-dyed shirts would have been! And so I started building my new shirt collection, and Yiume shirts are the only shirts I wear now! The photos show my 38 short sleeve, button-down shirts. But there are currently 3 more on their way to me in the mail.
365 Days of Yiume: My All-Season, All-Occasion Shirt Obsession
I own and wear Yiume shirts exclusively. Whenever I leave home, for any purpose (including not just pleasurable outings and vacations, but daily chores of shopping, doctor visits, bank and post office errands, etc.), I wear Yiume. They are the only shirts I own now (except for my pajama tops - LOL). I have never worn long-sleeve shirts, so these Yiume short-sleeve, button-down shirts are my full wardrobe - winter, spring, summer, fall.
Know More about Dr. John Miller: Physicist, Systems Engineer, and Curator of 41 Yiume Masterpieces
I studied science in college, and then went on to earn my Ph.D. in Physics. I began my career in underwater acoustics research, but I was always interested in the ocean environment and animal life in general. My home is filled with seashell and seahorse décor and artwork. So, similar-themed Yiume shirts naturally drew my attention! As my career progressed, I became more interested in systems engineering (rather than basic research) – drawing satisfaction from putting software and hardware pieces together to design and build systems.
"I love sharing with everyone my LOVE for Yiume and how good they make me feel."
I have always been drawn to patterns and designs. I am retired now, but I get a similar sense of pattern-design fulfillment from collecting Yiume shirts that embrace nature, art, and the yearning and joy of life through impeccable motifs and craftmanship.
